"MissFusion - for your dancing, listening and relaxing pleasure"
MissFusion is made up of various musical backgrounds and influences but primarily soul, Northern, Motown, funk, disco, cool pop and anything with a groove.
This 5 piece band cover tracks in their unique style, spanning over 5 decades from the early masters such as the Temptations, Curtis Mayfield etc to current soul artists including Amy Winehouse and Pixie Lott. Other appreciated artists, not predominately known for their soulful contribution to soul include Van Morrison and singer/songwriter Carol King, who wrote tracks for Aretha Franklin.
MissFusion continuously strive to bring something a little different to the live music scene by regularly updating their set and by not covering the obvious tracks that most soul cover bands play. MissFusion appreciates rare tracks such as the Tomangoes' "I Really Love You Baby", Rita Dacosta's "Don't Bring Me Down" or Dee Edwards “Why Can’t There Be Love”.
The original concept of MissFusion was formed in 2004 by Tania Hamilton, who contacted her musician friends that were able to capture this style of groove. The current line up is Rich Kimpton on drums and Julian (JJ) Watkins on percussion who provide the groove necessary to pull off such tracks as Gill Scot Heron's "The Bottle". They are joined by Matt Baynham on bass and Gaz Atkinson on guitar.
MissFusion provide lively entertainment and have been playing the local scene and playing to lucrative private functions including closing the famous annual Gloucester Blues Festival and supporting Geno Washington and the Ram Jam Band.
MissFusion is looking to add to the current line-up with keyboards and brass, so if you're interested in getting involved, please contact us through this website.
